The matrix 5x5, defined in 2007, gives a structure to the sustainable development strategy of the Solvay group and all of its entities.
The matrix 5x5 guides our actions in economic, social and environmental matters.
At the intersection of the Group’s stakeholders expectations and the 5 driving axes of its strategy, key fields are defined which, when combined, form the sphere of operation for the action we take at local, regional or worldwide level.
In association with the fields of action in the matrix 5x5, tools and indicators enable each of the Group’s management units - Strategic Business Units, Competence Centers and Business Support Centers - to:
carry out, within their own areas of responsibility, regular self-analysis of issues posing a threat to sustainability;
